Uganda - Equipment of the physiotherapy of Gulu with missing equipment and material
In 2020, SwissLimbs rehabilitated the physiotherapy department at Gulu Referral Hospital, refurbishing the facilities and stocking them with new materials and equipment in order to radically improve the services provided to patients.
In partnership with AVSI Uganda - an NGO active in the field of rehabilitation on the ground since 1999 - in 2020 SwissLimbs rehabilitated the existing physiotherapy of the Gulu Referral Hospital, through the renovation of the facilities, the laying of a new floor and the procurement of machinery and materials to improve the care of the many patients who visit the physiotherapy on a weekly basis.
Thanks to the SwissLimbs project, the quality of physiotherapy and its treatment has improved considerably, thanks to new aids and the offer of more sophisticated treatments such as ultrasound therapy.
Since 2021 - furthermore - following an agreement with SUPSI University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland, SwissLimbs has started to send students to Gulu for 3-month internships in the areas of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and nursing sciences.
The goal of SwissLimbs is to create a fruitful professional exchange between Swiss and Ugandan specialists, who will have the opportunity to confront each other on different practices and case histories.
