The development of the hospital and rehabilitation center
in Kibaha, Tanzania - the first hospital built entirely by SwissLimbs -
brings us great joy.
After an initial phase during which the land was
purchased and the building constructed, in 2020 SwissLimbs started -
thanks to a private Swiss foundation and co-financing from the Swiss
Agency for Development and Cooperation through the FOSIT call for
proposals - a second phase that will see the project go green with the
installation of a photovoltaic system. Our aim is to create a hospital
that is self-sustaining in the long term, but can still offer or
subsidise services for patients who cannot afford to pay, so that the
widest possible access to healthcare is guaranteed for all.
